Can electric fence be used in residential areas?
Municipalities have different regulations pertaining to the use of electric
fence. Check local zoning laws for guidelines in your area. Properly installed
electric fencing can be the most effective method for keeping out critters.
Is electric fence safe for my pets?
the brief jolt your pet receives from an electric fence will get their
attention, but not harm the animal. The mild shock will teach it to avoid the
fence in the future-just the result you want to keep your pet safely contained.
Why would I use an electric fence instead of a
traditional fence?
Electric fences are portable and far less costly then a barrier type fence.
Plus you don't block the view. In addition, using electric wires on the top or
bottom of a chain link or wood fence, prevents digging under or jumping over
the fence.
Can I electrify an existing wood, vinyl or chain link
fence?
You can easily ads to an existing chain link or wood fence. Zareba insulators
are available in a variety of styles that give you the flexibility of putting
an electrified wire at the outside top of the fence (to keep dogs from climbing
or jumping over) or at the outside bottom (to keep dogs from digging under).
This is a simple, low cost way to "dog-proof" an existing fence. (Note: you can
not directly electrify a chain link or woven wire fence, as they will ground
out).
Does Zareba carry buried wire dog containment systems?
Zareba does not supply underground fence systems for pets.
